RHS judges and public name Gran T’s Coffee House ‘Best in Show’ in Altrincham floral competition

Gran T’s Coffee House has been judged the ‘Best in Show’ by both the Royal Horticultural Society judges and the public who made it a clear winner in the Altrincham Today Facebook competition.

Gran T’s Coffee House has been judged the ‘Best in Show’ by both the Royal Horticultural Society judges and the public who made it a clear winner in the Altrincham Today Facebook competition.

The competition was the highlight of Altrincham Unlimited’s week-long celebration of all things floral which coincided with the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park and included free children’s activities, floristry workshops and offers around the town.

RHS judges visited the 17 businesses taking part and awarded a distinction to Gran T’s on Stamford New Road.

Gran T’s floral display was named ‘Best in Show’ and also won the public vote

Judge Frances Fenwick said: “We were very impressed with the variety of displays, the great effort made by the shops and businesses with designs showing very creative use of plant and flower material.”

Gran T’s was also the ‘People’s Choice’, amassing almost 500 votes on our Facebook page. House restaurant was runner-up in the public vote, with 376 votes, with Vintage Angel on Moss Lane third with 128 votes.

Along with a trophy from the RHS, Gran T’s received prizes which included tickets for the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park, a complimentary spa day for two at the Mere Golf Resort and Spa, and Marks & Spencer Vouchers.

Gran T’s owner Chris Taylor (pictured top with Aunty Sue and Frances Fenwick, said: “We’re absolutely over the moon to be chosen by RHS and Altrincham as their favourite! We’re glad we could reflect the inspiration for Gran T’s in a floral way and a big thank you goes to my Aunty Sue for all her help and ideas”.
