Manchester music legends Clint Boon and Bez are to perform Manchester anthems on stage with Altrincham’s Music Place choir at Harfest later this month.

Following their acclaimed performance of The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper album at last year’s inaugural event, 2018 will see the community choir – which is run by The Music Place in partnership with The Cinnamon Club – perform 10 anthems alongside Inspiral Carpets keyboard player, DJ and radio presenter Clint Boon and Bez, the legendary Happy Mondays dancer.

Clint’s son is a pupil of The Music Place and talented bass player in his own right and will join his dad and the choir on stage for performances of classics to include Inspiral Carpets’ This is How it Feels and Happy Mondays’ Step On.

This year’s festival will in fact be littered with Manchester legends, with Joy Division and New Order’s Stephen Morris appearing in conversation with 6 Music presenter Mary Anne Hobbs in Altrincham Town Hall.

Ushering in the Harfest weekend with funk band, Frisco Crabbe and The Atlantic Frantics, Clint Boon will also be making an appearance at The Cinnamon Club’s Family Funk Disco on Friday 21st September.

Clint will also feature in the Saturday night DJ line-up along with Bez, Bobby Langley (Hacienda) and Elliot Eastwick (Hacienda and Yellow).

The Music Place choir’s ‘Manchester Anthems’ performance will take place at 4:15pm on Saturday 22nd September and is free to watch. Tickets for other events can be found here.
