Shoppers and visitors will be able to park in Altrincham for free after 3pm this winter.

From Saturday 16th November – the day of Altrincham’s Christmas Lights Switch-on – Trafford Council will be bringing back its ‘Free after 3’ parking scheme across the whole of the borough.

Parking will be free after 3pm in all council-owned car parks and on-street locations between Monday to Saturday. Parking is already free all day in Altrincham on Sundays.

The scheme will run until January 11th.

Councillor James Wright, Executive Member for Housing and Regeneration, said: “Free after 3 is a great scheme to help boost our town centres and enable residents to shop local.

“We have a great mix of shops in our town centres and it’s brilliant that we can support them in this way, especially in the run-un to Christmas, and afterwards during the January sales.”

Green stickers will be visible at on-street pay and display machines across the borough and in council-owned car parks where the scheme is in operation.
