All GP surgeries in Trafford are to remain open on the Easter bank holiday days in response to the continuing coronavirus crisis.

NHS Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group said it was supporting GP surgeries in Altrincham, Timperley, Hale and the rest of Trafford to keep their doors open on Good Friday and Easter Monday this year.

Dr Mark Jarvis, Medical Director at NHS Trafford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “Further to national guidance from NHS England, we are supporting all Trafford practices to be able to provide services – remotely wherever possible – on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

“Such is the professionalism and commitment of our GP practice colleagues across Trafford, some may also be open for a period during Saturday or Sunday. Please check directly with practices as times will differ.”

Local pharmacies may also be open for at least three hours on Good Friday and Easter Monday – check the hours listed on the Greater Manchester Local Pharmaceutical Committee website, which will be updated soon.

Out-of-hours services remain in place – 6.30pm-8am Monday to Friday and 6.30pm Friday to 8am Monday over the weekend, accessible by calling 111.
