Aldi has today opened its new Altrincham store.
The first customers were through the door at the 13,500 sq ft store at 8am this morning.
It’s located on the Atlantic Street Retail Park between United Carpets and The Gym Group, and replaces the existing Aldi on Davenport Lane.
The unit was previously used by B&Q, which closed down in September 2016. It is 35% bigger than the current Aldi in Altrincham.
Store manager Carl Palmer will lead a team of 32 staff, most of whom are transferring from the current store. Four new jobs are being created.
During opening week, the store will be offering a wide range of Halloween products, including a 1.2-metre inflatable Dracula, witch or pumpkin, priced £14.99.
Palmer said: “It’s been a wonderful morning here at the opening of Aldi Altrincham. It was lovely to welcome both familiar faces and new customers into the store and I look forward to meeting more of the community in the coming weeks.
“I’d also like to thank our customers for following the social distancing guidelines we have in place to ensure the health and safety of both our customers and colleagues.”
