Police are seeking witnesses after a resident was attacked by a dog in Timperley, sustaining “significant” injuries.

Officers said the incident, which happened at around 10am this morning, took place on the corner of Dee Avenue.

The dog is described as a chocolate-brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Pit Bull.

The resident – whose gender or age has not been confirmed by police – lives in Hartford Gardens in Timperley.

They were said to have sustained “significant injuries to their forearm” during the attack.

The dog left the area, leaving the injured victim to seek help from nearby neighbours.

North West Ambulance attended the scene and Paramedics provided treatment.
