Plans to spruce up George Street have been revealed as part of the next phase of town centre improvements by Trafford Council.

A visual released today shows how the southern end of George Street could be given a makeover under the plans, with a new paved area complementing the work done around Shaw’s Road and elsewhere in recent years.

The image also shows the addition of trees, plant beds and seating areas.

The council is now calling on residents, businesses and town centre users to give their views on the plans.

It says the work will build upon the success of earlier public realm improvements and aims to “provide an attractive town centre that improves the experience for all town centre users”.

Other plans will involve Market Street and Groby Road, Moss Lane and Regent Road.

Consultation boards will be displayed in Altrincham Library and The Contemporary Art Gallery on Stamford New Road from this Wednesday, August 25th.
