The RHS Flower Show returns to Tatton Park next month – and the next generation of garden designers will be drawing inspiration from the tumultuous events of recent years in a bid to claim the coveted RHS Young Designer of the Year award.

Rising sea levels, long Covid and carbon footprinting are among the topics tackled in the ambitious designs of the five young finalists, all aged under 28.

Among the designers are Rachel Platt and Alex Pettit, who have created spaces to aid recovery and stress relief for patients and NHS staff.

Lex Falleyn, show manager for RHS Tatton Park, said: “We are really excited to see the ideas of these five young designers come to life at RHS Tatton Park this year.

This year’s RHS Tatton Park Flower Show runs from July 20th to 24th

“It’s impressive to see how they have used their garden designs to highlight global issues affecting people and the planet. We hope they inspire the next generation of gardeners to come and see the show and to try horticulture as a hobby or a future career.”

And there’s much more on offer for the whole family at this year’s show, which runs from July 20th to July 24th.

Little gardeners can get excited about nature with a host of fun activities including a family trail and hands-on activities with the Forest School.

Foodies will love the street food stalls, on-site restaurant D’Vine Dining or the array of award-winning local and speciality food and drink, direct from the producers, in the Great Taste Market.

There’ll also be the opportunity to learn from some leading horticultural experts with an exciting programme of talks and demonstrations.

And there will be festival vibes throughout with live music and entertainment providing a celebratory atmosphere.
