A new ITV series looking at the everyday lives of wealthy Cheshire housewives will feature women from Bowdon and Hale Barns.
The Real Housewives of Cheshire, inspired by the popular American series America’s Real Housewives, will air in the new year on new free-to-air channel, ITVBe.
Among the “amazing characters” signed up by ITV are Bowdon’s Lauren Simon, a mother of two originally from Hale who now “spends her time organising friends’ holidays and parties” at their homes in Marbella, Florida and Cheshire.
She also has a pet rabbit which she takes for walks on a lead.
Also from Bowdon is Magali Gorre, the wife of former Dutch international footballer Dean Gorre. Her eldest son Kenji was on the books at Manchester United but now plays for Swansea, while her youngest son Aidan is at the United academy. She is currently writing her third book and is also a magazine columnist.
Also featuring is Ampika Pickston, a divorcee with one son who owns the Opium hair and beauty salon in Hale Barns. A keen golfer at Wilmslow, she volunteers at an animal shelter.
The other housewives include interior designer Dawn Ward, from Alderley Edge, and Prestbury WAGS Leanne Brown and Tanya Bardsley.
A statement from ITV said: “Throughout the series we’ll get to know these amazing characters and their intertwining lives. In the extreme world of Cheshire’s rich and famous residents, life moves fast and each day has its dramas, ensuring every episode will be action packed and entertaining. All with the gorgeous backdrop of the lavish homes and the exclusive locations that these women live in.
“The Housewives’ wealth and connections also mean that through them, viewers will get unique access to the elite events and fabulous social occasions that punctuate the Housewives’ extraordinary lives.”
