Celebration to mark five years since death of Frank Sidebottom creator Chris Sievey

An event to mark five years since the death of Chris Sievey, the man who played Timperley legend Frank Sidebottom, is to take place on Saturday.

An event to mark five years since the death of Chris Sievey, the man who played Timperley legend Frank Sidebottom, is to take place on Saturday.

Fans are invited to a group photo at the Frank Sidebottom statue in Timperley village, followed by a ticketed Frank Sidebottom Celebration at the LMRCA Club, on Navigation Road, where Frank was a regular performer.

The night will include a Frank Sidebottom show reel, a DJ slot and live music from XL5.

Author Mick Middles – who wrote the Chris Sievey biography “Out of his Head” – will be interviewing a celebrity guest live on stage.

And Rick Sarko and Barry Spencer, who were in the Chris Sievey band The Freshies, will be playing an acoustic set with Chris’s son, Harry.

Any money left over from the night will be going to Marie Curie.

Tickets, which need to be bought prior to Saturday, are priced £6.25 and can be ordered here.
