Altrincham's night-time economy is set to receive a safety boost with the official relaunch of the Best Bar None (BBN) scheme.

The national accreditation programme, supported by the Home Office, was relaunched at Nell's Pizza on Monday at an event attended by local licensees, community safety experts and Altrincham BID representatives.

The scheme aims to recognise and support venues that demonstrate high standards in safety, customer care and community engagement.

Local businesses participating in the programme will benefit from staff training, enhanced reputation and improved relationships with local authorities and police.

Jo Chandramani from Altrincham BID, who is coordinating the scheme, said: "Best Bar None accreditation acts as a valuable health check for your business, helping to improve standards, enhance customer safety, and boost your venue’s reputation.

"Altrincham has a fantastic range of bars, pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues, and the Best Bar None scheme gives us a great opportunity to celebrate and support them. It’s about working together to raise standards, promote responsible hospitality, and make sure everyone enjoys all that our town centre has to offer.”

Attendees included Iwona Kossek (BBN Scheme Manager), Lindsay King (Community Safety Co-ordinator from Greater Manchester Police), John Lloyd (GMP Licensing Officer for Trafford) and Trevor Stone (BBN Assessor).

Local businesses interested in being assessed for the BBN accreditation can contact Altrincham BID at info@altrinchambid.com.
