Titfers by Nest, an Altrincham hat business, celebrated its first year of trading with a ladies evening of “Bubbles & Bonnets” last week.
A 45-strong gathering of customers and friends enjoyed an evening of hats, Prosecco, fashion and make-up artistry.
Local businesses were on hand to help out – Jenny Brennan, of Edge Style Boutique, set up a pop-up shop while mother and daughter team Lynne and Tori Tarren-Hope, of Hale beauty salon Face Values, gave a make-up demonstration and shared tips.
Sarah Whitfield set up Titfers by Nest 12 months ago with a mission to fill the gap in the market for contemporary and exciting occasion hats in South Manchester.

She said: “As a busy mum, I’ve wanted for years to work for myself and to enjoy the flexibility of working from home. I also wanted to get back to the thing I love, making ladies look and feel fabulous.
“Now I run a hat emporium from home rather than a retail empire away from it. Titfers’ millinery is available to buy or hire, and available to see and try by appointment only. We are a modern retail business, our website and social media serve as our shop window.
“We’ve had a very brisk start to the hat season, and I’m passionate and very excited about putting more sensational hats on heads this summer.”
