Employees at an Altrincham company have been handed a radical new change to their workplace benefits: unlimited holidays.
Marketing agency BDB employs 33 staff at its office on Hale Road, from where it works with clients including Flexitallic, Elsevier and Tata Steel.
Last year, managing director Matt Smith led a management buyout that saw a new executive team acquire 100% of the company’s capital.
And now it has come up with a range of “bold” new benefits for staff which, alongside unlimited holidays, includes uncapped remote working and flexible hours.
Matt Smith, CEO, said: “Having heard peers and advisors moan about the attitudes and expectations of Generation Y employees, I embraced the BDB culture of transparency and honesty and asked our talented team members directly what mattered most to them. By taking into account the needs of our employees, we reshaped our benefits platform and working practices to fit.
“Better work life balance, flexible working and feeling valued were all clear priorities, alongside a market-leading salary. Many would complain they want everything, but who doesn’t? At BDB, we only want truly exceptional talent to join our unrivalled team and I’m confident that by making such a bold move in this area we will not only attract new candidates, but also maintain our extraordinary employee retention rates. Last year, we even welcomed back old team members.”
The agency says that staff already benefit from health and dental care support, car leasing schemes, childcare vouchers and gym memberships.
BDB reported revenue for £3.2m for the 12 months to May 2017, up from £2.85m the previous year.
