Altrincham Unlimited are putting on a free event which aims to inform local businesses how they can get the most out of HS2.
The proposed train system, which is Europe’s largest infrastructure project, promises to connect Greater Manchester to the Midlands and the South via fast, frequent and reliable services.
Altrincham Unlimited, the town’s Business Improvement District, says HS2 will open up opportunities for Altrincham’s businesses to extend their reach and maximise their potential.
The talk will be led by Carol Evans, the Engagement Manager at HS2, and will take place later this month, specifically focusing on how Altrincham businesses can benefit.
Elizabeth Faulkner, the BID Manager at Altrincham Unlimited, said: “We wanted to offer Altrincham’s businesses the chance to find out how they could benefit and prepare.
“We also appreciated that businesses would have many questions, from how HS2 contracts would be awarded to whether the construction phase would affect them.”
Each major contract to build HS2 is projected to create thousands of opportunities for the supply chain.
Small and medium-sized enterprises are expected to be awarded 60% of those contracts.
The free event will take place on Tuesday September 18th at Cresta Court Hotel, 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. No registration is necessary.
