American gym franchise Orangetheory Fitness has officially opened its new Altrincham studio.
The studio, based on 4 George Street opposite Wilko in Stamford Square – put on a launch event on Saturday which over 180 attended.
It had already been running classes throughout December to early adopter ‘founder members’, and is now open to the public following an official ribbon cutting at the launch event with the Mayor of Altrincham, the President of the Guild of the Freemen of Altrincham and the Bellman.
Guests enjoyed food and drink, a live DJ and live workout demos, and the studio team were also on hand to explain more about the brand, which has over 1,000 studios in 17 countries worldwide.
Orangetheory Fitness classes offer a one-hour, full-body workout, focused on training endurance, strength and power. Backed by the science of Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (or EPOC), Orangetheory’s heart-rate-monitored-training is designed to maintain a target zone that stimulates metabolism and increases energy, which results in burning more calories post-workout than traditional exercise.
Adam Bowerman, Studio Manager at Orangetheory Fitness Altrincham, said: “We couldn’t be happier with how the event turned out. Loads of people came to see what makes the Orangetheory experience so unique and I definitely think they were impressed by what they saw! We’re excited to continue building our relationship with the community here in Altrincham.”
Altrincham is the first town outside of London in the UK to become home to Orangetheory Fitness, with the brand looking to open 40 new studios across the Midlands and the North by 2026.
