Altrincham law firm Lund Bennett has strengthened its team with the appointment of Jennifer Roulston.

Roulston, who has two decades’ experience in family law including a high-profile paternity rights case, joins the boutique firm as a senior solicitor.

She’s spent the past 15 years at a well-known Cheshire firm, where she headed up the family law team and was made a partner in 2010.

The mother-of-two specialises in family law including separation of married and unmarried couples and the financial issues that can result regarding pensions, assets, property and child matters.

She said: “I couldn’t miss the opportunity as it was a great move away from a multi-disciplinary legal practice to the small-is-beautiful vision held here and I’m so excited to get involved.

“The office is based at The Downs in Altrincham and is a very discreet location, which is perfect for lots of our clients.”

Roulston hit national headlines when she won a case to establish paternity rights for her client, Emma Hickman, whose soldier fiance Private Daniel Wade was killed during a Taliban attack in Afghanistan.

She enlisted the help of then Prime Minister David Cameron and Warrington South MP David Mowat to help force a change in the Ministry of Defence’s protocol for collecting soldiers’ DNA.

This legal victory paved the way for women to prove paternity if an unborn baby’s father dies whilst on military service.

Kirsten Bennett, founding partner at Lund Bennett, said: “I’m thrilled to welcome Jennifer to the team. Her passion, knowledge and enthusiasm for the law, as well as her vibrant personality came across immediately.”
