A Hale-based online travel agency is expecting to hit £4million in sales this year after experiencing “unprecedented” growth despite the Covid-19 pandemic.
Reserve A Hotel was originally started by Bowdon entrepreneur Samuel Mond as a hobby alongside his fintech company Icount Money.
Earlier this year the latter was acquired by Cashplus Bank for an undisclosed sum, allowing Mond to focus on Reserve A Hotel.
The company is now one of the fastest growing travel agencies in the North West – despite the disruption caused by the pandemic.
Mond, who set up the company in 2016 with his father-in-law Eliott Cohen, said: “We quickly established that the Covid-19 pandemic was no small event, and the main focus was obtaining refunds.
“We processed hundreds of refunds (and it was hundreds, to the tune of £1.2million) and I’m now down to my final two, of which I’m confident of a positive outcome!”
Mond says the company – which plans holidays for customers on a buy now, pay later basis – has recently signed new partnerships with a further 10 wholesalers, broadening its portfolio of destinations.
Reserve A Hotel’s customer base has tripled in 12 months, Mond added, and said he was confident of “significant expansion” ahead.
