Trafford is the only Greater Manchester borough to show a decrease in coronavirus infection rates, according to the latest data.
While nine boroughs saw their rates go up – meaning seven of the region’s boroughs are now on ‘red alert’ with a rate above 50 – Trafford’s rate reduced from 38.8 per 100,000 people (for the week ending August 30th) to 27, for the week ending September 4th.
However, in the neighbouring boroughs of Salford and Manchester, the rates rose to 60.3 and 56.1 respectively.
The latest data comes as lockdown restriction in Greater Manchester are actually eased, with Health Secretary Matt Hancock announcing on Friday that, from today, casinos, skating rinks, bowling alleys, indoor play areas and soft play, exhibition centres and conference halls are all allowed to reopen.
Socially distanced indoor performances will also be able to resume, as well as beauty services such as eyebrow threading and make-up application.
Restrictions still however prevent you from having anyone who doesn’t live with you in your home or garden, unless they are in your support bubble.
And you shouldn’t socialise with people who don’t live with in pubs, restaurants or cafes.
