Altrincham has been selected to represent the North West as the region's Best Large Town at this year’s RHS Britain In Bloom UK finals.
It follows Altrincham's stunning performance at last year's North West In Bloom awards, when the town received the highest mark in the competition's history on the way to the Best Large Town trophy.
Regional and national judges will now visit Altrincham over the summer ahead of the Britain in Bloom awards in October.
Litter-picking volunteers will again be supporting efforts to make the town as clean and presentable as possible.
Sarah Walmsley, who is coordinating Altrincham's bid as chair of Altrincham in Bloom, has now called on businesses and residents to support their voluntary work with donations. Any donations are welcome at the following bank details: Altrincham In Bloom CIC, 51-61-11 77564286.

Among the proposals for this year include an innovative living sign feature with the words ‘Welcome To Altrincham’ spelled out using plants in contrasting colours, to be located close to Station House.
