Later this month, Altrincham will host a series of special events across the town centre as part of the town’s first Food & Drink Fortnight.

Later this month, Altrincham will host a series of special events across the town centre as part of the town’s first Food & Drink Fortnight.

Organised by Altrincham Unlimited, it will take place from Saturday 17th June to Saturday 1st July and is set to further enhance Altrincham’s growing foodie reputation.

You can take your pick from sensational sushi, authentic Caribbean, South Indian specialities, gin tasting, rum flights and more.

Here’s a full list of everything that’s going on:

Saturday 17th June

Sushi & Barbeque at Sushi/Kimchi

Love sushi? Love a summer barbeque? The launch event at Sushi/Kimchi will give you the best of both, with sushi tasters and a Korean barbeque throughout the afternoon. No need to book – all welcome!

Indian Cookery Classes at New Dilli

New Dilli’s Indian cookery classes are hugely popular, and The Downs restaurant is putting on two extra sessions for the Altrincham Food & Drink Fortnight.
Classes focus on the fine art of Indian cuisine, a passion for Chef Naeem, with classes designed to help you to unlock the secrets to cooking a sensual meal.

The classes are hands-on, with guidance throughout – ensuring you benefit from the wealth of knowledge of ingredients and traditional recipes – and giving you the skills to cook authentic Indian food for your friends and family whilst having the most fun possible! Also running on Saturday 24th June.

£54 per person. Includes tea or coffee, Indian starter demo, spice demo, preparation of two main courses under expert guidance with all ingredients provided.

Radiant Supper Club at Eat:Kaizen

Eat:kaizen, on Stamford New Road, will be holding a Radiant Supper Club with health author Hanna Sillitoe

Join inspirational local blogger Hanna Sillitoe, author of Radiant: How to heal your skin from within, for a three-course healthy supper club in Eat:Kaizen and a talk about how she researched and changed her diet, with dramatic results for her skin.

One of Altrincham’s best-kept secrets, Cholaas is a real gem of authentic South Indian cuisine, and this specially priced menu is a great way to discover it for yourself.

With a delicate mix of authentic traditional and contemporary South Indian cuisine, this menu is ideal for vegetarians, with a range of meat options too.

From Brewing to Banking – the Story of Stubborn Mule Brewery

Ed Bright left a career in banking to follow his true passion – the brewing of craft beer. Come and hear about the development of Stubborn Mule Brewery from a garden shed in Timperley to a microbrewery in Broadheath. Ed will talk us through his different ales and there will be an opportunity to taste them all.

This event is presented by So Altrincham and altspace – Altrincham’s co-working hub.

Experimental Gin Tasting at Riddles Emporium

An evening of spirited exploration and experimentation with some of the world’s finest gin elixirs at Altrincham’s new specialist purveyor of spirits and liquor, Riddles Emporium. Not to be missed!

FREE Children’s Afternoon Tea at Sugar Junction

Sugar Junction‘s vintage vibe, cool decor and brilliant baking have made it a hugely popular addition to Altrincham.

They have recently launched a new Kids Menu and as part of the Altrincham Food & Drink Fortnight are inviting children to come and try it out and enjoy a FREE children’s afternoon tea on Sunday 25th June from 12-6pm.

Free afternoon tea is available for up to 2 children accompanied by a paying adult (adult must purchase food & drink). Kids afternoon tea includes a sandwich, cake, sweet treat and a drink.

Old Fashioned Night at Riddles Bar

For the final evening of the Food & Drink Fortnight, Riddles – Kings of the Old Fashioned cocktail – will have special prices on Old Fashioneds and an extensive menu of unusual variations on the original cocktail. A must for all cocktail connoisseurs! All welcome – advance booking not required.
