Altrincham’s famous festival is back this Saturday for a special 40th anniversary celebration.

This year’s Ruby festival will take place on Saturday July 1st.

It will kick off as ever with the Altrincham and District Grand Parade, which usually attracts thousands of participants and spectators and is a highlight of the local calendar.

Over 50 floats, organisations, groups and businesses have entered this year’s parade, which starts at 11am from St Margaret’s Road.

The parade will make its way to the festival showground, which is once again being staged on Beechfields Recreation Ground on Grange Avenue in Timperley.

There, the highlights will include the Above & Beyond Show, a colourful feast of breathtaking thrills, spins and elegant poses, all suspended 10 metres above the ground.

Other attractions will include a funfair, brass band, marching displays, craft marquee, beer tent, food stalls, giant inflatable and much more.
