Cyclists took to the street of Manchester for the first ever ‘electric bike ride’ in aid of the WeLoveMCR emergency fund

Altrincham played host to the first ever ‘electric bike ride’ in aid of the WeLoveMCR emergency fund.

Businesses including lawyers, accountants and bankers teamed up to ride the 20km route which started on King Street in Manchester city centre, before concluding at Altrincham Market House.

The event was organised by Manchester-based commercial law firm Fletcher Day, and the bikes were supplied by Altrincham-based 50cycles.com.

A number of people took part in the electric bike ride, raising money for the WeLoveMCR charity

Firms taking part included Hale-based accountants Alexander Knight & Co, NatWest bank, Sugar PR, law firm Potter Rees Dolan and business sales specialists Aspire.

Andy Herricks, corporate partner at Fletcher Day, said: “We hope that this ride to Altrincham will be the first in a series of e-bike rides across the city we’re organising to raise awareness and funds for this important charity.”

Scott Snaith, managing director of 50cycles.com, said: “We’ve provided the e-bikes for the rides from our new shop in Altrincham and we’re happy to see Manchester professionals going further, faster in aid of this amazing charity.”
