Just a 20-minute tram trip from Altrincham, Manchester Ice Rink is now open at its new location in the centre of First Street.
Located next to Deansgate Locks and opposite the former site of The Haçienda, First Street ice rink is a fantastic spot for a Christmas day trip.
The 20m x 15m ice rink, with a capacity of up to 100 skaters at any one time, will be open seven days a week until Saturday 23rd December.
All ages and abilities are welcome, and it’s also a good spot for everything from a romantic first date to a festive office party.
For those wishing to spectate, there’s an array of restaurants, cafes and bars offering discounts of 10% or 20% off for all ice skating ticket holders.
First Street’s food, drink and entertainment operators including The Laundrette, Indian Tiffin Room, Kettlebell Kitchen, Junkyard Golf Club, WOOD Manchester, Gasworks Brewbar, with Pizza Express, Starbucks and Sainsbury’s rounding off the line-up.
If you’re taking the car rather than the Metrolink, Q-Park First Street offers a 700-capacity car park on site as well.
First Street’s famed first occupier, HOME, will also be showing a selection of classic Christmas movies including Tim Burton’s ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’, ‘Edward Scissorhands’, ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ and ‘The Muppet Christmas Carol’.
