The Hale Barns Carnival is back this summer – and Only Fools and Horses star ‘Boycie’ is on board to help promote the annual event.
The event, which launched last year, will be back on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July on St Ambrose College’s playing fields.
Following the success of New York disco act Odyssey last year, the Saturday night concert will see performances from tribute bands including The Pretend Beatles, the Sound of Bowie and George Michael tribute Andrew Browning.
The Sunday night will see a performance from acclaimed tribute act ABBA Revival as well as the award-winning Bootleg Bee Gees and Diana Ross by Tameka.
And the events team has enlisted British actor John Challis – best known for his role as Boycie in classic BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses – to promote the event.
Event organiser Max Eden said: “We are delighted to have John Challis reprising his iconic role as Boycie to advertise this year’s community event and can’t wait for everyone to see the amazing attractions at this year’s event.”
The event is sponsored by local firm Benchmark Security but the not for profit event is still looking for further sponsors.
“We try and work with the smallest budget possible to bring this community event together but we are still searching for further sponsorship for the event, we can offer a number of packages and welcome any support possible,” Max added.
A weekend pass is available for only £30 (under 16s £10) which can be purchased online here or in person at Oxfam in Hale Barns.
