The biggest bonfire night in Manchester will celebrate its 50th anniversary this November at Bowdon Cricket, Hockey and Squash club.
Each year, the event on South Downs Road raises money to keep the unique sport facilities available to the local community.
Taking place on Friday November 2nd, the gates open at 6pm and the night will end at 9.30pm.
The organisers said: “Every year, the display gets more and more exciting and this year, the 50th-anniversary fireworks extravaganza is promising to be the best ever.”
The itinerary for the night includes the young children’s display at 7pm which will be considerably quieter than the main display, with the traditional bonfire being lit at 7.20pm.
The second fireworks display will start at 8pm lasting 15 minutes and the grand finale starts at 8.45pm.
The club added: “The main fireworks display is a very special event with a musical fireworks display controlled by computers, from Galaxy Fireworks.
“They are one of the UK’s most prestigious fireworks specialists, whose displays thrill millions of spectators around the world every year.”
Advance tickets, priced £5 for children (U13s) and £12 for adults with a family ticket £30, are available from Hale Newsagents, the Co-op in Bowdon Vale, Altrincham Library, Martin’s Newsagents, the Nisa in Timperley, Broadheath and Altrincham, Bowdon Church School, Bollin Primary School and Bowdon sports club on South Downs road.
