The Hale Barns Festival is back for a third year this weekend, with over 100 attractions and live music from the likes of former Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp and New York disco legends Odyssey.
The two-day festival, which takes place on the St Ambrose playing fields on Saturday and Sunday, will again feature free entertainment for families during the day and then ticket-only live music in the evenings.
Organiser Max Eden, from Hale Barns Events, said: “We are ready to kick-start the summer and cannot wait to welcome visitors of all ages to Hale Barns Carnival.
“We have a tremendous programme lined up this year with plenty of activities on offer to keep everyone entertained throughout the entire weekend! Bring the whole family along and enjoy the wonderful carnival atmosphere!”
The weekend’s programme will open at 12pm on Saturday with a special performance from the Manchester Survivors Choir on the B&M Stage.
The daytime entertainment will feature more than 100 attractions including a traditional fun fair, falconry displays, supercars, sports, arts and crafts, artisan market, and a food village.
New this year is the High Jinx pop-up theatre, a 200-seater inflatable centerpiece which will feature shows throughout the day from magician and illusionist Michael Jordan.
Performers across the weekend include Bananarama tribute Nanarama, State of Quo, a tribute to Status Quo, Irish dancing, electric and acoustic group String Infusion, country music star Danny McMahon and Scarlett Quigley from The Voice.
Complimentary daytime admission is made possible thanks to the support of event sponsors retail giant B&M, Manchester Airport and Benchmark Security Group.
The evening ticketed activity on Saturday and Sunday starts at 6pm, with the live concerts starting at 7.30pm.
Saturday evening’s concert features live performances from groups The Real Thing and Odyssey, while on Sunday there is an 80s-themed concert starring Owen Paul, former Brother Beyond star Nathan Moore and Martin Kemp, who will perform a special Back To The 80s DJ set.
Adult evening tickets are £25 and the weekend pass is £45. For under-16s evening tickets are £10, and weekend passes are £15. 100% of ticket revenue will go towards community projects.
