There’s a packed week of family fun to look forward to in Altrincham this half-term.

Altrincham BID, who produce Visit Altrincham, has organised a series of activities taking place between Tuesday 25th and Sunday 30th October.

There will be a FREE family town trail sponsored by Stamford Quarter, children’s Spooky Silent Discos with ‘Our Kids Social’, a Family Ghost Tour with Jonathan Schofield and scarecrow craft with Inch Arts.

The town trail has been inspired by a story, Sam Pig and the Scarecrow, written by Alison Uttley, who lived on The Downs in Altrincham.

The trail takes place from Tuesday 25th – Sunday 30th October (10am-4pm), and trail sheets can be collected from the Not So Secret Garden in the Stamford Quarter.

The Spooky Silent Discos will take place on Friday 28th October

You can make your own scarecrow or 3D crow puppet in craft workshops with Inch Arts. The workshops are on Tuesday 25th and Thursday 27th October, tickets are £5 per person and can be booked via Eventbrite.co.uk.

There will also be fancy dress Spooky Silent Discos, where scarecrows are welcome, on Friday 28th October at the Best Western Cresta Court Hotel on Church Street.

There are two sessions taking place at 11.30am-12.30pm and 1pm-2pm, tickets are just £4.95 per person and include the disco and themed games with prizes. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.co.uk.

If you would like to find out about Altrincham’s spooky past, join award-winning tour guide Jonathan Schofield for a Family Ghost Tour on Saturday 29th October (6-7pm).

Jonathan will lead you through the streets of Altrincham, uncovering the ghostly stories and horrible haunts from bygone days. This spectacularly spooky tour is suitable for the whole family but recommended for children aged 10+. Tickets are available on Eventbrite and cost £5 per person.

Mandy White, Altrincham BID Manager, said: “There’s lots to do in Altrincham this October half term with offers and activities from some of Altrincham’s businesses including ‘Not So Spooky Halloween Week’ at Little World for Scholars, Halloween at The Hive and a Fancy Dress Halloween Party for the grown-ups at House Kitchen & Bar, plus lots of sweat treats around the town for those taking part in the trail! Take a look at the flyer or VisitAltrincham.com for more information.”
