Chat show legend Sir Michael Parkinson is to bring his live show to Altrincham.

The 88-year-old will appear at The Bowdon Rooms on Thursday November 23rd in an event entitled An Evening with Sir Michael Parkinson.

In conversation with his son Mike and showing highlights from the Parkinson archive, the event will be intimate, entertaining and informative look at Parkinson’s remarkable journey from a pit village in Yorkshire to prime-time TV star.

He is best known for his self-titled talk show Parkinson, which ran from 1971 to 1982 and then 1998 to 2007, as well as other talk shows and programmes both in the UK and internationally.

His interviews with the likes of Muhammad Ali and Billy Connolly have become classics of the genre, but he has also interviewed Fred Astaire, Orson Welles, Sir Alec Guinness, Sir Paul McCartney, George Michael and Madonna.
