Award-winning craft bakery Gail’s is to open one of its first Northern outlets in Altrincham town centre.

Gail’s is to open in the Shaw’s Road unit recently vacated by Mustard later this year.

It will be the bakery chain’s third opening in the North after Wilmslow – where it is opening next month – and King Street in Manchester city centre.

Inside a typical Gail’s bakery

The new opening will serve Gail’s artisan sourdough breads, pastries, sandwiches and cakes alongside its specialty House Blend coffee.

Gail’s was originally founded by Yael (Gail) Mejia in the early 1990s, serving top chefs and food venues. It reached 100 stores in October 2022 and is a common sight in London.

Gail’s will be moving into the former Mustard unit

Gail’s uses seasonal ingredients from local suppliers and its menu features the likes of mini avocado and chickpea buns, parmesan chicken sandwiches, spinach rolls, blueberry and custard brioches and Madeleines.

Last year, Gail’s was awarded fourteen Great Taste Awards by the Guild of Fine Foods.
