First look: Starbucks, Stamford Square, Foundation, Altrincham

The global coffee shop finally opened its new Altrincham outlet this morning.

Here's a first look inside Altrincham's new Starbucks, which has opened in the Stamford Quarter's Foundation building today.

The new 1,708 sq ft cafe is located on the ground floor, at one end of Stamford Square opposite Poundland.

It had originally been scheduled to open last month but with Stamford Square now fully resurfaced and the gateway ramp to Stamford New Road set to be ready imminently, it opened in time for the Bank Holiday weekend at 7am today.

The new cafe - Starbucks' second in Altrincham after its Sainsbury's outlet - has seating space for 40 and an al fresco area which is due to open in the summer.

Eleven new jobs have been created by the new opening, with Starbucks teaming up with homelessness charity Only a Pavement Away to recruit local candidates. The team is headed by store manager Ana Ilie.

James Tootle, Head of Retail and Leisure at Bruntwood, said: “It’s great to see brands like Starbucks invest in our vision for the town centre. The interior design fits perfectly with the new building and it makes for a great arrival experience. We look forward to announcing more news of the hospitality brands set to join Foundation soon.”

The new Starbucks is part of the wider regeneration of the former Rackhams development, with more leisure businesses to follow, including bowling and entertainment venue Lane7 in July.
