Can you create Altrincham's ultimate pudding? Enter your dessert and have it judged by Great British Bake-Off star

Chris Bisson, star of Emmerdale and winner of the Great British Bake-Off Christmas Special 2024, is to help judge the search for Altrincham's ultimate dessert - and anyone can take part!

It's all part of the Altrincham Pudding Competition, a brand new initiative from Altrincham BID that will form part of A Taste of Altrincham.

The two-week celebration of the town’s diverse culinary scene will run between Friday 28th February and Sunday 9th March.

And the Altrincham Pudding Competition will give participants the chance to create a pudding that represents the essence of Altrincham.

Your creation could be inspired by the town’s rich history, lively markets or the warmth of its community.

All you need to do to enter is to submit an original recipe - along with images of your Altrincham-inspired pudding or cake - by email to info@altrinchambid.com (see full entry details below).

All submissions will then be judged by an esteemed panel of judges, who will decide the ultimate winner.

The panel features Chris Bisson, star of Emmerdale and winner of the Great British Bake-Off Christmas Special 2024, Carl Newton, CEO of headline sponsor Myerson Solicitors, and Lisa Warnes, Director of Cheshire Cookery School.

The judges will evaluate the finalists’ creations at a special event hosted at Altrincham Town Hall on Saturday 8th March at 2pm. Tickets are FREE but must be reserved on Eventbrite.co.uk.

How to Enter

1. Submit your original recipe along with images of your Altrincham-inspired pudding or cake by email to info@altrinchambid.com
2. There will be two categories in the competition – please state which category you are entering: Under 16s or Adults.
3. Please submit your entry on email to info@altrinchambid.com
4. Entry deadline: Midnight, Monday 24^th February 2025.
5. Entries will be reviewed, and a shortlist of finalists will be selected.
6. The finalists will be invited to bring their pudding or cake to the event on Saturday 8^th March at 2pm, where they will be judged by the panel.

The winning creation will be crowned the Official Altrincham Pudding.
