Altrincham Hospital has been handed a Good rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The independent regulator has published its report into the care provided at the hospitals and community services run by Central Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CMFT).
The Trust received an overall rating of Good, with both Altrincham and Trafford General also receiving a Good.
The report followed a planned inspection by the CQC in November, with a further unplanned hospital visit taking place on November 23rd.
CMFT said the CQC inspection had found “many examples of outstanding practice across a range of specialties and a deep commitment to the innovative and active development of services, and to research”.
At both Altrincham and Trafford General, the CQC commended the staff on “their commitment to providing outstanding compassionate care to their patients”. Also noted was the Minor Injuries Unit at Altrincham Hospital and facilitates diagnosis and discharge.
Other areas of outstanding practice noted at Altrincham Hospital included the production of dialysate fluid for renal patients on site to reduce costs and the unit’s carbon footprint, and the training programme and competency assessment for renal patients who want to dialyse at home, supported by advice and support.
CMFT chairman Steve Mycio said: “The report is an acknowledgement of the tremendous commitment, dedication and hard work shown by all of our staff to delivering the highest quality patient care. We can all be proud of this fantastic achievement and we will build on this and strive for even better in the future.”
