The prime corner unit at Stamford House has been snapped up by Magnet Kitchens.

The retailer has agreed a 10-year lease on the 1,600 sq ft space and will be spending around £250,000 on fitting it out. RPS Property handled the lease.

Magnet is hoping to open up in time for the post-Christmas rush on Boxing Day.

A Northern company which has its roots in West Yorkshire but is now headquartered in Darlington, Magnet has over 200 locations across the UK.

It has over 2,000 employees and recently owner Nobia Holdings announced that turnover for the year to the end of 2013 was up to £407m, with profits at £11.8m.

Magnet also has an outlet on Cross Street in Sale.

Confirmation of Magnet’s arrival means that several of the units in the recently refurbished Stamford House are now taken.

The first three arrivals – Shop4Supplements, Vintage Angel Design and Hummingbird Flowers (the latter two sharing a unit) – have recently been joined by cycle-coffee concept Velo Espresso, with Close Male Grooming set to open their fifth outlet in Manchester soon.
