The new Costa Coffee outlet in Timperley village is to open its doors on Thursday, February 5th.
Fitting-out work has already begun on the 588 sq ft Paul House unit, which the coffee chain finally secured in November after several months of lease and planning negotiations.
Costa had originally planned to open in time for Christmas but was required to seek additional planning permission to allow for an exterior sitting area.
The new outlet will be able to seat 79 people – 65 inside and 14 out – putting it on a par with the Costa Coffee in Hale village.
And we can now reveal that over 150 people applied for the “eight to 10” jobs being created at the store.
An insider told Altrincham Today that the chain had been stunned by the “incredible response” to its new location, with over 150 CVs sent to the recruitment email address posted in the shop window.
Costa decided to set up a number of group interview sessions to cope with the demand, and all vacancies at the new store have now been filled.
