Tickets have gone on sale for a spectacular Bastille Day celebration at Bowdon Rugby Club, a brand new event forming part of the Altrincham French Festival.
The evening event, on Saturday July 11th, will feature a sit-down three-course French meal, live entertainment and a firework display.
A “Marie Antoinette” theme will be given to the banqueting room, and the dress code is a relaxed French style or French period costume – there will be a prize for the best dressed guest.
Dinner tickets, including the meal and a welcome drink, cost £30 and are available here. Also available are “bring your own picnic” entrance tickets, giving access to the grounds and the entertainment, which cost £5. Children under five are free.

The Bastille Day celebration has been added to the programme of events for this year’s Altrincham French Festival schedule after the success of last year.
The following day, Sunday July 12th, sees the return of the main event at Stamford Park, a free, family celebration of French culture and food.
That event will feature a wide range of sumptuous French food and drink, a range of entertainment for children and families including vintage French cars, French storytelling, a magician, a puppet show and a junior rugby tournament in celebration of the Rugby World Cup.
Watch the highlights of last year’s festival:
A French themed graffiti painting will be created by a trained graffiti artist, and there will also be boules, French cookery demonstrations, face painting and craftwork.
There will also be a live three-hour concert with both international and local artists.
The event will once again be raising money for Marie Curie through a raffle. A number of organisations and businesses, including the French Embassy and Alliance Francaise de Manchester, have already signed up in support.
