Two councillors led a team of volunteers recently to give a makeover to a much-loved Altrincham garden.
The Oldfield Road gardens are located on a key route into the town but had been unplanted for a couple of years.
Councillor Matthew Sephton gathered a group of volunteers, including Councillor Alex Williams, and spent two afternoons on the job.

Cllr Sephton said: “These gardens, although relatively small in size, are at a busy spot at the junction of Oldfield and Manchester Roads and get a lot of attention.
“There is no doubt that they were looking tired and I wanted to change that. With the help of my ward colleague, Cllr Alex Williams, we set to work, clearing the beds and planting seeds. Hopefully it should be looking bright and colourful once again soon as a result!”
“The team of seven took two full afternoons to complete the work, so make sure you look out for the results, both in increased tidiness and in the flowers that will be sprouting very soon!”
