The new Asda supermarket in Broadheath will create 200 jobs – and has already began recruiting.
The supermarket giant is hiring both full-time and part-time workers across a wide range of departments, ranging from bakers and personal shoppers to shop floor assistants and checkout colleagues.
The new 40,000 sq ft store, on George Richards Way, will be opening its doors to the public on Sunday 27th September.
General store manager Anthony Rutherford said: “We’re committed to working with the Altrincham community and we want a team of colleagues who will provide world class service to our shoppers.
“We’re bringing our award-winning food ranges and Asda prices to Altrincham for the first time, offering range and taste that smaller supermarkets can’t, with customer service and convenience that other large retailers simply don’t.”
The store is to become the only Asda foodstore in Altrincham – its nearest alternative store is based in Wythenshawe.
The Asda Living store at Altrincham Retail Park will be closing around the same time – the new store will stock Asda’s George and George Home range, as well as introducing ‘click and collect’ facilities. There will also be an in-store cafe.
The store will also host an ‘Asda Community Centre’, which will focus on boosting the profile of the store’s Community Life Scheme.
This will include the ‘Chosen by You, Given by Us’ initiative that aims to provide financial and voluntary support to three local organisations, decided by a customer vote.
