Here’s an exclusive first look at Sugar Junction’s new Altrincham tearoom on Stamford New Road.
Sugar Junction has built a loyal following for its Northern Quarter tearoom in Manchester city centre since opening in 2011.
With a vintage, “quintessentially English” feel, Sugar Junction will offer teas, coffees, scones, homemade cakes and light lunches, with bespoke cocktails in the evening.
It opens to the public this Sunday and will be open from Wednesdays to Sundays each week: 9am-10pm on Wednesdays, 9am-11pm Thursdays to Saturdays and 9am-8pm on Sundays.
The new opening has created 15 jobs, six of them full time.
Owner Alex Watts told us: “We’re super excited to open. With the Northern Quarter we try to create experiences and memories and we’re very fortunate to be able to give it a second shot and open in Altrincham. We’re very lucky to have a very loyal customer base.”
Speaking about his experiences of Altrincham so far, he said: “It’s a very welcoming community, and we’ve made so many new friends already and had so much interest in the new site, which has given us the confidence to keep going.”
On its transformation from the previous home of Johnson Cleaners, he added:”It’s been a lot more than we had to spend, but with this sort of building and the age of it, we wanted to get all the exposed bricks and high ceiling and we wanted to have it right, so we kept spending to make sure it was!”
