A 25-year-old woman injured in a collision with a car in Altrincham on Monday evening has sadly died.
Helena Thurm, from Altrincham, was described by her family as a “beautiful, kind, caring, intelligent and funny person who was loved by everybody”.
A statement from her family added: “She was well known in the Altrincham area where she worked. Helena liked a challenge and was at the threshold of adult life having finished university. She had been to a job interview on the day of the accident that stole her life.
“Helena will be sadly missed by her Dad Alan, Mum Sandra, both her brothers Stephen and Michael as well as the rest of her family and friends.”
Helena worked as a bartender and online marketing coordinator for Riddles Bar, on Greenwood Street in Altrincham.
She had also worked at House bar in Goose Green and was a past pupil of Altrincham Grammar School for Girls.
She had been left with “life-threatening” injuries after a collision with a black Vauxhall Astra on Manchester Road yesterday evening.
Police Constable Paul Hailwood, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts are with Helena’s family, who have understandably been left devastated following the death of their loved one at such a young age, and we have specially trained officers supporting them.
“We are still establishing the exact circumstances of this collision and are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone who may have footage from dash-cams.
“We would greatly appreciate the help of the community to piece together the circumstances of the incident and anyone with information should call GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741/5.”
Police have today appealed for witnesses or those with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
