Police are searching for a gang of teenagers who conducted a brazen daylight robbery on Hale Bowling Green last evening.
A group of friends were approached by the eight-strong gang at the Ashley Road club in Hale at around 6pm.
One of the friends, a male, was grabbed by four of the offenders who demanded to know what was in his pockets while holding what police described as a “sharp object to his stomach”.
The offenders then searched the male’s pockets and stole his mobile phone.
The victim’s friends then ran away and were chased by a number of other male offenders.
All offenders made off back onto Ashley Road and were last seen heading up Leigh Road.
Police are currently able to provide descriptions for three of the offenders. The main offender is described as mixed race, 6ft, medium build, around 16/17 years with a scar/shaved right eyebrow, wearing full grey Nike joggers and hooded top.
The second offender is described as a white male, small build, 12/13 years old with blonde hair.
The third offender is described as black, 5ft 8in tall, large build around 16/17 years with short black shaven head, wearing a black hooded top.
Police are urging anybody with information to report to 101 or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
