A 16-year-old girl was knocked down by a car close to Trafford College this morning.

A 16-year-old girl was knocked down by a car close to Trafford College this morning.

Emergency services responded to reports a girl had been hit on the A56 Manchester Road shortly after 9am.

She suffered minor injuries and was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital for treatment.

The road was closed for around 45 minutes but has now reopened.

The incident happened close to two other collisions earlier this year which cost the lives of a nine-year-old girl and a 25-year-old woman.
