You better believe us – yes, Canadian pop superstar and permanent screaming target really was out having a pint in Altrincham last night.
The 22-year-old hadn’t descended on Stamford New Road late last night in order to inspect progress on the delayed phase two of Altrincham’s public realm improvement works.
Rather, he dropped in to delightful local boozer Tavern On The Green, renowned for its superior ales and fine line in Pieminster pies.
He was there with some of his renowned entourage and members of the Manchester Storm team – with whom he had spent the earlier part of the evening at the Altrincham Ice Dome.
Storm general manager Neil Russell explained: “I’m in the pub stood next to him now. I sent him an email a few weeks back and heard nothing.
“Then I got a call on Monday saying he would be very keen to meet up with the team for a skate.
“He cancelled on us three times but then they got in touch tonight and said I’m on my way.
“So I got a team together and we were all skating with him for a good hour or so. And now we’re at the pub with him.”
Russell to the MEN added that Bieber, a huge fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, had signed a jersey for the team and that “the boys had a great time hanging out with him, he came into the changing room with us and everything”.
Bieber, who caused controversy during his three gigs at the Manchester Arena earlier in the week by walking off stage and generally having a moan about the amount of screaming coming from his fans, is understood to have been staying at a £4.75m futuristic hideaway in Helsby during his stay.
