A man who drove through the scene of the fatal New Year’s Day road traffic collision on Manchester Road has been charged by police.
Ben Pickford, 20, from Sale, breached the road closure in his Audi A3 in the early hours of January 1st.
He has now been charged with drink driving, driving without due care and refusing to provide a roadside specimen.
The road had been closed following a collision between a silver Hackney carriage taxi and a 50-year-old male pedestrian, who died at the scene.
