Police have reminded owners about the dangers of leaving dogs in hot cars after an incident in Altrincham earlier today.
Officers were called to the Lloyd Street car park after staff spotted the animal in car with temperatures rising into the high-teens.
Attempts to track down the owner were eventually successful and the dog was found to be unharmed.
A spokesman for GMP Trafford South said: “We have advised the dog owner of the dangers of leaving a dog in a hot vehicle, we may think there’s a cool breeze out there today, but there’s no breeze in a closed car in direct sunlight.”
