Police are appealing for any witnesses or information after a robbery took place at a family run pet shop in Altrincham.

Cheshire Pet Supplies, which is located on Oakfield Trading Estate, was the target of a robbery between 5:30pm on Saturday 29th July and 11am on Sunday 30th July.

Kenneth Steele, the owner of the business which has been trading for over 30 years, alerted the police.

“I locked up the shop at about half past five on Saturday evening, and I came back on Sunday at about 11am to sort out the accounts and realised that we had been broken into,” he said.

“The support from people on Facebook has been wonderful, a company called Highcraft has been in contact offering support as well as items including dog collars and leads which they are willing to donate,” he added.

The shop is located in the Oakfield Trading Estate and have lost a significant amount of stock

The incident saw more than £60,000 worth of pet food being taken from the building including Royal Canine Dog and Cat food, Veterinary Diet dog food and products such as Cat Beds, Leather Furplas collars and leads and small dog coats.
