Three teenage boys have already been charged with S18 assault and robbery in connection with the incident, which occurred on a basketball court in Pickering Lodge Park on August 21st.

The 16-year-old victim received serious stab wounds to his chest during the incident.

And now police have released an image of what appears to be another teenage boy and want to talk to him in connection with what they are now calling an “attempted murder”.

Detective Constable Clare Robinson of GMP’s Trafford Borough, said: “As part of our investigation to establish how this situation unfolded, we have released an image.

“If you recognise the person in the image, or the clothing that he’s wearing, I’d ask for you to get in touch and help us identify who he is, to aid our investigations.

“We’d also ask for anyone who heard the disturbance and saw something that could help with our enquiries, to please get in touch.”
