The funeral will take place tomorrow of a popular local hairdresser who has died suddenly just days after his 61st birthday.
David Edwards, who worked in a number of salons in Sale and Altrincham over the last 40 years, had built up a huge list of clients, many of whom became friends.
He had moved his business back to Sale Moor with the opening of Infusion Hair Design, on Northenden Road. It is from there that the cortege for his funeral will leave tomorrow.
His family have decided to raise money in his memory for the British Heart Foundation.
In a moving tribute they said: “Our dad lived his life to the fullest. He was always on the go. A dancer in his youth, he enjoyed playing football and going for a run. A hairdresser all his life he was constantly on the go and always on his feet.
“Then on the 18th May 2018 just 3 days after his 61st birthday his heart stopped beating and our world collapsed around us. None of us saw it coming. He had a full MOT the week before. His ECG results were normal.
“There were no warning signs other than what he thought was indigestion the day before and moments before his heart attack.
“We have decided as a family that we would like to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation as this is now a cause very close to us after losing this amazing man who we all loved immensely. Thank you for taking the time to read his story. Any donations are greatly appreciated and go towards research for heart disease which is the UK’s single biggest killer.”
Some of his clients and friends have left their own tributes to Dave on Facebook including this one from his colleagues at Infusion: “It is with great sadness that I have to write this. A couple of days ago we had to say goodbye to a wonderful man, it breaks my heart to say that David Edwards has sadly passed away. We are all very much in shock and deeply heartbroken, our thoughts now are with his family.”
The cortege will leave the Infusion Salon at 1pm tomorrow and travel to Southern Cemetery off Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton for anyone who would like to say their respects.
