Timperley twins record identical results at Altrincham school

Loreto Grammar School’s identical twins Hannah and Lucy O’Donnell said team work was the secret to their identical grades in identical subjects in their A Levels.

Loreto Grammar School’s identical twins Hannah and Lucy O’Donnell said team work was the secret to their identical grades in identical subjects in their A Levels.

The Timperley twins each got an A* in Psychology with A grades in Biology and History, though Lucy admitted “I did start a physics course but then swapped after one week when Hannah told me I should really be doing Psychology.”

Hannah said: “There is absolutely no sibling rivalry, after all we are a team.”

Lucy added: “We share the same friends, both play the piano and enjoy lacrosse and do everything together.”

They will however now be separated as Hannah goes to Newcastle University and Lucy heads to Bristol.

Meanwhile, headteacher Jane Beever hailed another set of stunning results at the Altrincham school.

“Over 75% of all grade were at A star to B with over 40% at either A* or A, which all means our students have the opportunity to study some truly exciting and challenging courses at the country’s very best universities,” she said.

“Colleagues and students have embraced the necessary changes associated with the new linear style of assessment and the more rigorous curriculum and worked tirelessly to achieve these superb results. There are no ifs or buts or maybes at Loreto, it’s simply hard work if you want to succeed.”
