The Hale Barns restaurant formerly known as Fox is to reopen as a “family-friendly” Mediterranean bar and grill next week.
Barns Bar and Grill will open in the 4,000 sq ft Hale Barns Square unit opposite Booths supermarket and will have room for 80 covers.
It’s intending to serve Mediterranean food, pastas and pizzas with a price point that’s more affordable than its predecessor.
Fox closed its doors over the summer, only two years after a high-profile £1million launch. It had been the brainchild of Danny Fox, co-founder of the Living Ventures restaurant group and a former director of Individual Restaurant Company, which owns the likes of Piccolino and Restaurant Bar & Grill.
The site is currently undergoing a redesign that has moved the bar to the back and added booth seating to create a “warmer environment”.
Will Walters, who is managing the refurbishment, told Altrincham Today: “The old layout of the restaurant was a bit higgledy-piggledy but this time there will be a much better flow to it.
“We’ll have fantastic wines from all around the world as well as a rare wine selection. We’ll be open from 12 noon so it’ll be a great option for business lunches and also a great drinking environment later on with the cocktail bar at the back.
“We also want this place to be more family orientated, Fox didn’t feel warm and we’re trying to create a warmer environment.”
Speaking about the new owner, local entrepreneur Michael Goldstone, Walters added: “Michael’s a Hale Barns resident, he wants it to be a success, he wants people to enjoy themselves and have fun here.
“The vision is for it to be a good eatery that does good wine and is well-priced. It will tick all of those boxes.”
