- Moss Lane (Broadheath/Timperley)
- Chapel Lane (Hale Barns)
- Wellfield Lane (Hale Barns)
Trafford Council has invested a total of £7.7million into the highways capital programme for 2018–2019. The first phase of the programme – which began in July – has seen 19 roads resurfaced including Dunham Road.
The 2018-2019 programme will use several preventative methods to repair, not only the surface, but the structure of the road too.
Preventative methods, like resurfacing, help to protect the road surface and structure from heavy use and weather damage. Resurfacing works include removing the top few layers of the old road surface, replacing ironworks like drain covers and relaying the new surface. Finally, fresh road markings are reinstalled to complete the newly laid road.
Cllr Stephen Adshead, Executive Councillor for Environment, Air Quality and Climate Change, said: “We are looking forward to the next set of upcoming schemes, including major resurfacing works along Chester Road and Kings Road. The programme aims to continually make Trafford a better place to work, live, relax and travel by adopting the best methods available to us to deliver bigger and better schemes.
“Although road works can be an inconvenience, we are committed to maintaining Trafford’s network in the most efficient way possible. Where we have some larger schemes, overnight work arrangements have been made to reduce the overall impact on residents, motorists and commuters travelling in and out of the borough.”
